Suva Nausori Airport (SUV)
Airport Information
(Suva, Fiji)
The second International Airport in Fiji, Suva Nausori Airport (SUV) is situated within the easterly region of the main Fijian island, Viti Levu, approximately 22 km / 14 miles north-east of Suva, the capital of Fiji. Ninety percent of international flights use Nadi International Airport (NAN), which is located on the opposite side of the island, with a 30-minute domestic flight linking the two airports. A steady growth in regional tourism has spawned plans for major upgrades to Suva Nausori Airport, often referred to as Luvuluvu, which will transform it into a regional, international and domestic hub.
However, Nausori Airport does receive a number of popular, international flights from as far a field as Auckland, Sydney, Samoa and Tonga. Both airports are used for domestic services and flights from Nausori go to Kadavu Island (Southern Islands); Savusavu, Labasa, Taveuni Island (Northern Islands); Ovalau, Koro, Gau (Lomaiviti Group); Vanua Belavu, Lakeba (Lau Group) and Rotuma.

None of these outlying domestic airports have lighted airstrips and consequently no flights leave after dark. Since many international flights arrive in the evening, it means at least a one night stay in either Suva or Nadi is required before commencing ongoing travel and sleeping overnight at the airport is not permitted.
Suva Nausori Airport (SUV) Information: History and Facilities
Nausori Airport has long served the Fiji and Viti Levu islands, and has recently published a 'Master Plan' covering the next 20 years, during which time it hopes to make many improvements. At present, the airport facilities are limited to a snack bar, ANZ bank and a duty-free shop, while car hire is also available.
Buses ply the route to nearby Nausori regularly throughout the day and leave from the highway opposite the airport, while other services take passengers to Suva. Alternatively, taxis are available from outside the terminal.
